Types of inverters according to their uses

Most motors draw power from 12 volt batteries. It is important that you know the voltage of your motor cars so that you can install batteries accordingly. The battery will provide direct current, which means that the current is continuously flowing through the circuit from the negative terminal to the positive terminal of the battery. DC or direct current is useful but only provides low voltage power.

Some appliances need up to 120 volts AC power to run. The AC or Alternating current is constantly changing poles and sending current through the circuit, first one way then in the reverse direction. The transfer of current waves is very fast- 60 times/second. AC power is best with high voltages and can be increased with voltage by an inverter. AC inverters are best for motor cars and household appliances as they need high voltage power to run, thus you should change your DC to AC power inverters for better power.

Three-phase inverter

To convert AC power to DC, three phase inverters are used. Three single phase switches are connected to three load terminals. For controlling the current, the three switches are coordinated to create a waveform. A line to line waveform with six steps is created. These six steps have zero voltage between the negative and positive terminals in such a way that harmonics of multiples of three are removed.

For a high power rating, two three-phase inverters of six steps each are connected in parallel or in series. This creates 12 steps waveform. For more power generation, you can add more steps by connecting more inverters. As the waveform is increased, higher voltages and current ratings are achieved. These are highly recommended and used in industrial areas where heavy machineries need high voltages to work, and multiple computers run at the same time that need high current ratings.
